B efore
evening, those beautiful women becomes
anxious to
return home. Hops and jostles on to a crowded bus.
The town then wears a dry look.
The town can never follow these beautiful women
When these beautiful women can
easily hunt down the town at will.
One
of poet Nilim Kumar's popular poem 'Dhunia Tirutabur' is the
inspiration and source material behind the making of a new Asomiya
film 'Dhunia Tirutabur', the last schedule of whose got wrapped up
recently at the floor of Guwahati's Jyoti Chitraban Studio. The
shooting of 'Dhunia Tirutabur' which began from November 8 and
finished on November 12, had several important scenes being canned in
two other previous schedules.
The
setting is the Asomiya film industry of whose background the film is
based. Like the poem by Nilim Kumar, the film is a commentary on the
self-centred and multicoloured nature of women. Themes of love,
intrigue, jealousy and passion get explored through an examination of
the relationship between an obsessive writer-journalist and a number
of women. In the end, he realizes the complex nature of women,
enigmatic as they are, it's extremely hard to understand a woman. Even
though the film has a serious subject, quite a number of artistes are
from mainstream cinema. A brief outline of the story :
T he
noted writer-journalist is faced with a peculiar problem. He is
requested by a small town garage mechanic to trace his object of
fascination, a lady who goes missing according to him! Out of
curiosity, the writer tries to find out the missing lady all by
himself. In his quest, he enters the glitzy glamour world of the film
industry, meets all kinds of people with their whims and fancies. A
world quite different from what he'd imagined, he meets up with two
leading film actresses. One who has passed her prime, faced with the
awful truth of growing old and getting to act in character roles. The
other, at her peak, with growing adulations and popularity, but faced
with some different problems of her own. The journalist's struggle to
find the truth mirrors the struggle of these two film actresses to
reassert their identity and come to terms with the real world around
them, different and in contrast with their 'reel' lives.
Made
under the banner of 'Arclights', the film is directed by newcomer
Prodyut Kumar Deka. The story and script is by himself. The script
